Congratulations! So you made the decision to call us! On your initial visit we will complete a comprehensive assessment of your physical and mental health status. After the initial assessment, we will schedule a day and time for your first infusion. You will not be able to drive after your treatment so be sure to bring a friend or family member with you so they can drive you home.
Day of infusion
It is a requirement that you do not eat or drink anything 8 hours prior to your infusion. Upon arrival we will verify any change in your physical health. If there are no changes since your health assessment, we proceed by starting a peripheral IV catheter, taking your weight, and applying monitors on you while you are seated on a comfortable recliner. During the infusion you may choose to listen music, watch a video or just enjoy the silence. Treatment will last about 45 minutes for depressive disorders and 3 hours for chronic pain syndromes.
After the infusion
When the infusion is complete we remove the IV catheter and place a bandaid over the injection site. We will monitor you for an additional 30 minutes. As soon as you feel comfortable walking, using the restroom and drinking water, we can send you home. During the infusion, clients may feel light-headed, dizzy, or nauseated; however, these symptoms can be treated via IV with anti-nausea medications. Your provider will be there to help you with any questions or concerns.
